South Bend Community Gardens

Formed in 2008, the community gardens initiative is designed to provide gardening and educational opportunities that help connect people to each other and to the natural world. Starting its first community garden on the grounds of the Conservatory, the project has beautified the grounds and provided area families with fresh, local, organic food.

For information on garden workshops, community gardening opportunities see the website at www.sbcg.org or contact the gardens at sbgardens@yahoo.com.

Urban Garden Market

Begun as an experiment in green urban development, the Urban Garden Market’s mission is to provide fresh, locally grown produce and prepared food products in a friendly, inviting market place. It is a collaborative effort between growers and community organizations and a unique economic and social tool to help achieve a wide variety of goals.

The Urban Garden Market will operate from mid-May through mid-October beginning at 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.
